Obituary of Marcelina Hernandez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcelina Hernandez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, who left this world surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was 91 years old.

The daughter of the late Antonio and Juana (Valentine) Lopez, Marcelina was born on April 26, 1933, in Puerto Rico. She was a faithful and loving wife to Narciso Hernandez who preceded her in death in 1997.

Marcelina was a radiant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. Her infectious smile and joyful laughter were a source of comfort and happiness, creating a welcoming atmosphere wherever she went. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel special, and her genuine care for those around her will be deeply missed.

Family was the cornerstone of Marcelina's life. She poured her heart into nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love, compassion, and resilience. Her home was a haven filled with laughter, delicious meals, and the sweet melodies of her singing. Marcelina had a passion for dancing, often lighting up the room with her graceful moves and infectious energy, reminding us all to celebrate life.

In addition to her family, Marcelina had a creative spirit that shone through her love for crocheting. She crafted beautiful pieces that will forever hold the memories of her gentle hands and loving heart. She worked as a Teacher Assistant, where she inspired countless students with her patience and nurturing spirit.

Marcelina's legacy of love, joy, and creativity will continue to inspire everyone who knew her. She is survived by her beloved children: Sylvia Veras, Samuel Hernandez, Carmen DeFalco, Lydia Velez, Robert Hernandez, Abraham Hernandez, and Marisol Carvajal. Her memory will also be cherished by her 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her sons, George and Edwin Hernandez

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, PA . Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 5 PM with Reverend Keith Raser officiating.

Marcelina will be laid to rest at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the All-Faiths Cemetery, 67-29 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379.
