Obituary of James Paul Aragona

James Paul Aragona, aged 81, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 4, 2025, at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

 

The son of the late Vincent and Mary (Jarkowsky) Aragona, James was born on July 26, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Lisa (LaManna) Aragona. Together they raised five children, welcoming eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

 

James lived a life full of purpose and dedication, always guided by his unwavering faith in the Lord.

 

A self-made man, James was the proudly operated Active Express Trucking Company in Jersey City and Clifton, as well as Monitor Warehouse in Whippany, New Jersey. His entrepreneurial spirit and tireless work ethic were a testament to his commitment to providing for his family and serving his community.

 

A devout parishioner of Saint John Neumann Church in Hawley, Pennsylvania, James found solace and strength in his faith, living a life of service and compassion.

 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa Aragona; children, Jamie Davis, Dana Swingle, James Aragona and Christine Aragona; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren as well as a host of friends.

 

James was predeceased by his son, Vincent Aragona.

 

A Receiving of Friends will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Saint John Neumann Church, 705 Rte. 739, Hawley, Pennsylvania 18428.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at the church with Rev. Edward Casey officiating.
