Obituary of Marianne Ingrid Flail

Marianne Ingrid Flail, 88 of Milford, PA, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY.

Daughter of the late Erich and Margarete (Knabe) Bass, Marianne was born on August 31, 1936, in Germany.

Marianne relocated from her home in Germany to the United States, where she began her career as an au pair.  She was a very kind, gentle, ambitious and generous person who often found something kind to say about everyone she met.

In 1971, she married the love of her life Karl A. Flail, who remained by her side until her passing. His family welcomed her with open arms and developed a deep connection with her.

While Marianne resided in the United States with her husband, she would often return to her home in Germany to see her family.

Marianne looked forward to talking to her brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew in Germany several times a week.  

Marianne worked as a Banking Information Technologist for Irving Trust Bank and then later the Chase Bank in New York, NY.

Marianne is survived by her husband, Karl; niece, Martina; nephew, Thorsten; sisters-in-law, Gisela, Krista, Karin and her husband Herb with the nieces Nicole and Dawn and nephews Kent and Steven and their children. as well as a host of friends, which she considered to be family

Cremation will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
